We have two schools representing Southport Football Club in the NLT Under 11’s regional finals at AFC Fylde today.
Farnborough Road are representing the girls and Norwood Primary School represent the boys.
Good luck to both schools today.
We will update later this afternoon as to how they both get on.
Update-Both of our teams finished in a very creditable third place.
Norwood started very well winning games against Chorley 2-1 AFC Fylde 3-1 and Wrexham 4-0 before going down 1-0 to Chester 2-0 to Barrow and 5-2 to Stockport.
Farnborough went down 1-0 to Stockport, 5-4 to Barrow, they then beat Wrexham 4-1 before going down 1-0 to Chester.
Both teams were a credit to Southport Football Club. A big well done to everyone who took part and the teachers who supported the children today.
It was a great event with some lovely football being played and I am sure there were a few stars of the future on show at the excellent AFC Fylde complex.
