Cold Weather Shelter Open For Homeless in Southport

*COLD WEATHER SHELTER – OPEN AT TIMES OF EXTREME WEATHER* THE ECO CENTRE, THE ESPLANADE FROM 10:00PM – OPERATED BY LIGHT FOR LIFE. *This service will be open tonight, Saturday 16th March*

It is available to those who are unable to use the sit up services available for some reason. Individuals found sleeping on the streets in toilets, doorways or tents can use this service should they wish.

Further dates this service is available will be advertised at Southport Housing Centre on Eastbank Street.

OUT OF HOURS ‘SIT-UP’ SERVICE FOR HOMELESS/ROUGH SLEEPERS IS AT: ‘NEW START’, 40-42 LEYLAND ROAD. Tel: 01704 547741. This service is open 365 days a year. Places available from 8:00PM on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. “You will be safe, warm and given a mat and sleeping bag. There are shower facilities and hot food/drinks until 08:00AM the next morning.”

No one need sleep rough on the streets of Southport tonight. Local officers and homeless outreach workers will be making anyone we come across aware of these services.
