Churchtown restaurant raises £2.5k in school meal appeal

An exceedingly popular Southport restaurant has raised nearly £2,500 for a local foodbank following their now famous school meals appeal.

The owners of La Tabella Churchtown have this week presented a cheque to Compassion Acts, the team behind Southport Foodbank, worth nearly £2.5k.

A spokesperson for the Food bank said: “a huge thanks to restaurant La Tabella, who provided 500 free meals to children in half term, using their own supplies.

“As people donated cash – including a boy of 11 who gave his £50 birthday money – almost £2500 was raised, now donated to Compassion Acts, who run Southport Foodbank.”
