Churchtown Primary has been evacuated following a gas leak in the school grounds.
Children have been rushed to the school playing fields and all staff and children are accounted for.
The emergency sparked a full evacuation just after 10am when site officers discovered a considerable gas leak within the grounds of Churchtown Primary.
A decision has now been made to cancel the remainder of the school day and parents are being asked to collect their children.
Years 1 & 2 parents are being asked to collect their children from the school field while reception classes are waiting for collection at Botanic Gardens gate.
It’s unknown how long the leak will take to fix.
