Residents at Barton Park nursing home were treated to an afternoon of festive cheer thanks to the choir from St. James’ church, Birkdale.
Led by Reverend Ian Mainey the singers ran through a selection of Christmas carols much to the delight of those in attendance.
The Christmas carol concert is an annual highlight of the Yuletide season for residents at the Birkdale nursing home on Oxford Road.
The choir’s songs included Joy to the World and Once in Royal David’s City and David Barton, senior manager at Barton Park said residents and staff were overjoyed by the performance.

Mr Barton, who also serves as a councillor for the Dukes Ward said: “Our residents at Barton Park always look forward to this particular afternoon and we are ever so grateful to Reverend Mainey and everyone from the choir for making it such an enjoyable afternoon.
“The residents have been asking us when it was due to take place and without the willingness of the members of the choir to devote their time and effort this event wouldn’t be possible.
“So I’d like to say a huge thank you to them for staging such an enjoyable carol concert.”
Barton Park was opened in 1977. It offers bespoke luxury living suites for its community of residents. For more information please visit www.bartonpark.com
