Choir raises £1,800 for Southport hospital leukaemia patients

29th November 2018

A choir raised £1,800 from a concert to support people with leukaemia being treated in the Medical Day Unit (MDU) at Southport hospital.

It was presented by former patient Colin Pompfrett, a former patient, with his wife Brenda, who are members of the choir.

The community choir, based at Ainsdale Methodist Church, Southport, gave the concert of songs from the movies and musicals in July. It was attended by Lynn Sugden and Kate Hughes from the MDU.

Octave gives two or three concerts for charity each year. Members have raised more than £25,000 since forming 15 years ago.
