Children caught trying doors in failed break-in attempt

By On The Spot News9th October 2021

‘We’ll be waiting for you’ is the warning to a group of children who were caught on CCTV trying doors in the middle of the night.

Two young boys dressed in all black were foiled in their attempt to find unsecured doors in the Bedford Road area of Southport overnight when a Ring doorbell caught them in the act.

The homeowner has shared the footage of the incident, warning that if they try again, they will be waiting.

This is the latest in a string of attempted thefts or burglaries in the area, with other residents reporting similar individuals trying car doors in nearby St John’s Road.

Police are now asking people to ensure their property and cars are fully secured when going to bed.

It’s not known what the pair were looking for but the incident has sparked outraged online and anyone who may recognise the boys are asked to call 101 and report them to Merseyside Police.
