The emergency services were called to Carr Lane, Birkdale, Southport at around 4pm, Friday 15, May 2015.
Police immediately closed the road in both directions. A member the public reported that a schoolboy had been knocked down.
Air ambulance landed on Carr lane playing field and transferred him to hospital at around 5pm.
A police investigation is underway.
