Southport FC conceded three goals in the last 10 minutes in their latest pre season friendly against Chester FC at the Deva Stadium.
Sandgrounders manager Liam Watson used the game to try a number of trialists who are currently with the club ahead of the new season.
The visitors were outplayed by an experienced Chester side as they suffered their second friendly defeat.
Southport started the game well and they nearly scored in the opening stages when Ross Farran saw his shot blocked on the goal line by Antoni Sarcevic.
Chestercame back strongly and Ian Howard went close twice for the home side.Southportkeeper Matt Nemes made a good save from Nathan Jarmin’s shot.
Jarmin put Chester in front on 80 minutes when Sarcevic played the ball in and Jarmin made no mistake from inside the area.
Dave Hankin made it 2-0 with a good solo effort and George Horan added another goal in the closing stages after a flick on by Paul Linwood.
