Customers at Santander Chapel Street were shocked today to find the branch closed without warning.
A sign posted in the window of the branch says it will reopen on November 4th.
The sign reads: “The safety of our customers and our staff is our prioirty, as a result we have made the difficult decision to close this branch.
“Cash services for Current Accounts and Business Accounts are also available via the Post Office with a Debit Card.
“We are due to re-open on the 4th November.
“Thank you for your patience during this time.”
Santander says: “We assess each branch individually to consider the potential impact for customers and the alternative options available to bank locally.”
Aside from alternate services at the post office, the nearest Santander branches Formby, Ormskirk, Leyland or Preston.
