CCTV images released after men threatened train guard with violence – Ainsdale

British Transport Police (BTP) officers are appealing for information after a train guard was threatened with violence on a train between Ainsdale and Freshfield.

The incident happened on Wednesday, 21 September shortly before 7pm.

PC Jane McGee said: “The train guard asked two passengers who were drinking alcohol and behaving in an anti social manner to leave the train. They responded by threatening him with violence and said they would ‘kick his head in’.

“Abuse, intimidation and threats like this cannot be tolerated, particularly when the victim was just carrying out his job. It is vital we speak to the people responsible.”

After reviewing CCTV, officers are today issuing images of two men they want to speak to about the incident.

“I believe the men in the images have information about this incident. Who are they?” added PC McGee

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting reference 228 of 14/10/16.
