British Transport Police has released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to about a bag that was stolen from the JD Wetherspoons pub at Liverpool Lime Street station on Monday, 24 August, at around 7pm.

Investigating officer PC Michael Connor said: “A man approached bar staff claiming to be the owner of a bag he had spotted behind the bar. He successfully managed to convince the staff member the bag was his by giving details of some of the items inside.

“The bag, which contained a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 mobile phone, Solo Beats headphones and various items of clothing, worth in total around £450, was handed over and the man promptly left the pub. The owner of the bag, another staff member, later noticed it was missing.

“We believe the man in the image could have vital information about what happened and urge him or anyone who recognises him to come forward to help us with our enquiries.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on, or text 61016, quoting reference PSUB/B13 of 07/09/2015. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
