Police hunt wallet thief in Birkdale

CCTV footage of a man believed to have information regarding the theft of a wallet in Birkdale village has been released by the victim.

A wallet was swiped off the table of an outside seating area near to Bar Nista in Birkdale village yesterday shortly before 4pm.

As well as cash and cards the wallet contained sentimental items such as pictures of loved ones.

The theif then went on a spending spree through Southport town centre using contactless payments.

Its thought he may have been seen in the Wellington Pub around the same time.
