Officers investigating the theft of thousands of pounds of outdoor clothing have released CCTV of a man they want to trace.

The Go Outdoors store on Rimrose Road in Bootle has suffered losses of more than £5,000 after three incidents in a week.

On the first occasion a man walked into the shop on October 18th and stole four Berghaus jackets worth £450 each before leaving with them hidden in a rucksack.

On the second occasion, on October 22nd, a man left the shop, activating the security scanner as he did so. Staff discovered two Berghaus jackets and two Mountain Equipment jackets worth £300 each missing.

During the third incident staff confronted a shopper acting suspiciously and he fled the shop, activating the security alarm as he left. They then discovered four Panamo jackets missing, each worth £325.

Following a review of CCTV from inside the shop at the time of each theft, officers would like the public’s help in identifying the man in the CCTV images so that he can be spoken to in relation to the on-going investigation.
