CCTV Appeal – Burglary, Birkdale

by
16th August 2016

Detectives are appealing for information following a burglary at an address in Birkdale on Sunday, 7 August and have released CCTV of a man they wish to trace.

The incident took place at around 5.45am, when an offender entered a property on Lancaster Road. Once inside he was challenged by the owner but managed to steal a number of items including a high-value 9ct gold diamond ring.

The victim was uninjured but left distressed by the ordeal.

It is thought that following the incident, the offender got on a bike and rode to Hillside Station, where he got on the train to Litherland and Seaforth.

Detective Constable Kev Reppion: “To have someone come into your home and steal your belongings is a very frightening experience, and I’m sure the community would agree that this offender needs to be brought to justice.

“We have released a CCTV still of a man we wish to trace, as he may be able to assist with our enquiries, and I would urge the man himself or anyone who recognises him to get in contact.

“I’d also be keen to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour in the area – a man on a bike at this early hour or on the train, to get in contact.”

Detectives would urge anyone with any information to contact 0151 777 3810 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
