Merseyside Police said: “We received a call at 8pm on Thursday 2nd February regarding a burglary on Freshfield Road in Formby. The incident happened between 6:50pm and 7:35pm. At this stage we do not know any more about the incident.”
The owners of the property spoke to Formby Bubble and said: “We had 3 or maybe 4 guys break into our house on Freshfield Road. They smashed three windows. We believe they were after our car keys. They had a crowbar and gained entry through a bathroom window and got into the hallway where they obviously thought the car keys would be but they set the alarm off and managed to get away.”
Another family member said: “The lights were all on in the house and even the TV was on and lucky enough the alarm went off so they didn’t take anything. We Just want to warn people to be extra vigilent, even when they are home. We have CCTV footage of them.We just want to make people aware of what’s going on. We are all really shook up about the thought that they were in our house, quite a scary thought!”
If you know anything about this incident, please call the Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
