CCTV appeal after Heskin watch theft

We are appealing for information after a high-value watch was stolen in Heskin.

Police were called around 3.30pm on Wednesday (March 23) following reports of a theft in Wood Lane.

Three people entered a jewellers and asked to view high-value items from display cabinets.

The group asked for the items to be gift-wrapped and while a staff member was distracted, have removed a Rolex watch from the wrapping.

The trio have then claimed they will return later to buy the items, but left without paying for the watch.

The jewellery, a gold ladies Rolex wristwatch with a ruby and diamond inset, is valued at £14,000.

Officers have released CCTV images of three people they would like to speak to in connection with the incident (pictured). 

PC Andy Smith, of Chorley Police, said: “We are appealing for information following a distraction theft in Heskin.

“This was a well-planned theft which resulted in a high-value watch being stolen.

“We are particularly keen to speak to the two women and man pictured.

“We would urge anyone who recognises these people to contact police immediately.”
