Cash and cigarettes stolen in Ainsdale Co-op burglary

The Station Road Co-op in Ainsdale is closed this morning after an overnight break-in.

Investigations have been launched by police after two males allegedly broke into the store stealing cash and cigarettes.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “We were contacted at 1.50am today, Friday 21st May, following reports of a break-in at the Co-op store on Station Road, Ainsdale.

“It is believed at around 12.50am two males entered the premises and stole a quantity of cash and cigarettes.

“An investigation is underway and CCTV and forensic enquiries have been carried out.
