Emergency services rushed to the scene of a severe two-car smash last night on a busy Southport road.
Two cars, one a Ford Fiesta, were involved in a high-speed collision at the junction of Sussex Road and Poplar Street just after 11 pm yesterday evening.
Two fire crews and a number of officers from Merseyside Police were called to the scene with witnesses describing the subsequent scene as ‘carnage.’
Debris was littered all around the corner of Poplar Street and Sussex Road.
An investigation is underway.
