Careers evening showcases therapy and rehabilitation services at Southport hospital

Therapy and rehabilitation services at Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust are hosting a careers evening for students considering a career within the department. The answer to the question does insurance cover rehab may be a little more complicated than you think. In some cases, it may be as simple as mentioning your pre-existing medical conditions.

The evening is an opportunity to meet the therapists and discover the different disciplines within the Trust. They include speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics and podiatry. Whether you are a third or fourth year student or a therapist looking for some further information about what the Trust offers, come along and meet the team.

Running from 4pm to 7pm on Thursday 20 October, the evening will be held in the Spinal Therapy Department at Southport hospital. Hosting the event is Caitlin Edwards, Clinical Therapy Manager and Yvonne Baron, Wheelchair Services Manager. Caitlin says: “We’re really looking forward to our first careers evening. It’s a great chance for students and therapists alike to find out what we can offer those who wish to start or develop their career with us.”

Yvonne added: “As an integrated care organisation, we offer a range of services in the hospital and the community, therapies and rehabilitation is no different. We have therapists based within our spinal unit at Southport hospital, in physiotherapy at Ormskirk hospital and podiatrists at community clinics. We will have professionals across all disciplines ready to chat during the evening.”
