Care home scam manager hit with £12,000 court bill

A care home manager who played an active part in one of the largest and most shocking scandals to hit the Southport care industry must now pay a bill of £12,000.

Barton Park owner David Barton senior stole around £4m from elderly residents in “one of the most serious cases of abuse of trust in this country’s history.

He cheated OAPs from around the region clear out of their life savings with the help of Rosemary Booth, the manager of the Nursing Home in Southport.

Now Booth, who was convicted of a fraud plot, must now pay £12,000 to the courts. She was originally jailed for six years at the outcome of the trial.
