Police have dashed to the scene of a car crash on Guildford Road in Birkdale this afternoon.
At least two cars are understood to have been involved in the accident near to the junction with Shaws Road.
Two police cars rushed to the scene and spoke with the occupants of one vehicle to determine the nature of the incident, which happened just after 3pm this afternoon.
Nobody is thought to have been seriously injured and no paramedic assistance has been required
The road remains open however some delays are now likely, with traffic being directed around the accident northbound towards Southport.
A nearby bus stop has been temporarily taken out of commission.
