Cafe booms as beer loving tourists flout Coronavirus ban

22nd March 2020

A popular Southport cafe serving booze remains defiant in staying open despite the government ban on pubs and clubs.

The marine lake cafe under Southport pier is benefiting from a roaring trade today as hundreds of thirsty tourists flock to the cafe to drink in the sunshine in close quarters despite ongoing fears of the Coronavirus spreading.

Many were pictured enjoying a cold pint in the sunshine and sharing jokes with friends in what is now the only cafe in Southport still offering close quarters table service.
