To mark the anniversary of World War One, the Royal British Legion, Byng House Poppy Break Centre will be holding a parade which will feature the 156 (Northwest) Regiment along with military vehicles. The parade will also feature the Royal British Legion local Standard Bearers, the Southport Sea Cadet Band and the Deputy Lieutenant of Merseyside Colonel Martin Amlôt will also form part of the parade..
The parade will commence from Byng House on the promenade at 11:30am and make its way to the Royal Clifton hotel, turning left onto Coronation Walk. The Parade will then turn onto Lord Street and make it’s way towards the Cenotaph. As the Parade approached the Cenotaph, it will turn left onto Neville Street, then making its way back to Byng House. Where a short wreath laying ceremony will take place.
We are encouraging members of the public and their children to support the parade and line the route for this 100 year Centenary Event, and to bring along Union flags to wave as the parade walks past.
