BURGLARY alert for Ainsdale residents

Burglars were active in Ainsdale overnight last night, Sunday 8th – Monday 9th July, with one attempted burglary reported where no entry was gained to the home, but items were stolen from a car left unlocked on the driveway. In a second burglary reported, entry was gained via an open window. Car keys stolen and car stolen from the driveway.

PCSO’s will be making house to house and CCTV enquiries about these burglaries today, and letter-dropping other addresses in the area with crime prevention information, to make other local residents aware in order to try and reduce further similar crimes.

Burglars love this weather. Windows left open provide perfect opportunities for them to ply their trade. Don’t make it easy for them. As warm as it is, please close and lock all downstairs windows at night. Check that you have removed anything of value from your car and locked it, and ensure all doors to your home are locked before you go to bed.
