A biker got the shock of his life after worried shoppers snitched on him to Police for trying to steal his own bike this afternoon, Tuesday 9 January 2017.
Worried shoppers had seen a man on Chapel Street with a hacksaw trying to cut off the chain of a bicycle.
Police were immediately called and arrived at the scene to reports of a theft in progress. However when they spoke to the would be thief it turned out he had forgotten the key to his bike and was forced to cut off his expensive lock.
The man provided proof of ownership and was let on his way.
