Residents of PR8 areas far away from Marshside have reacted in good humour to the highly debated issue of testing for the South African variant of COVID in the town.
OTS news has been inundated with comments and letters following news that the Covid variant has now been found in PR9 and latterly clarified as ‘Norwood Ward.’
While complaints are legitimate given the mass panic which has even made national headlines lately, some residents have managed to find the lighter side of the issue.
One Birkdale resident, Joe O’Brian, wrote to OTS News to say “Perhaps its time to close the Border with Norwood?
“In all seriousness the overwhelming sentiment from Sandgrounders has been a need for clarity.
“Our local Government officials need to tell us what’s happening and when and be as clear as possible so that everyone knows where they stand.”
One PR8 resident suggested building a wall around PR9, but OTS understands this was said tongue in cheek!
