Bucket- load of charity work for Aughton restaurant

    By 22nd January 2016

Aughton’s newest eatery is set to dig deep for charity, after pledging its support for a local hospice celebrating its Silver Jubilee.

The Town Green Brasserie, owned by the award-winning Seafood Pub Company, has committed to working closely with local charity Queenscourt for the next 12 months.

Three dates have already been secured in the diary; two charity lunches and an afternoon tea.  The idea is for both organisations to work together to raise money and support one another in whatever way possible.

Dan Mcdonald, general manager at the Town Green Brasserie said: “We’re really looking forward to working with Queenscourt throughout the year.  It’ll be great to get involved in events and raise money for a good cause.  Charity buckets will be on show throughout the restaurant, so customers can get involved too.

“One of the events planned is the Snowdonia Zip Wire Challenge and we’ve already got a few names in mind for that; I’m sure some of the team would love to give it a go!”

Queenscourt provides specialist palliative care services. Its philosophy ‘Life is for Living’ is prevalent in everything it does and the charity relies on fundraising, volunteers and support from local businesses to succeed.

“We are celebrating 25 years in business this year and support from local businesses such as the Town Green Brasserie really does help us to forge on with our work,” said Julie McAdam, community fundraiser.

“The charity lunches and afternoon tea are a great way to showcase the amazing venue, food and people at the Town Green Brasserie, whilst raising money and awareness at the same time.  We’re looking forward to an exciting 2016!”
