Brutally Murdered Southport man was due in Court

Stephen Maguire who was shot at his home on Guildford Road in Southport last month after four men smashed the door down was due in Court yesterday, Thursday 2 April 2020.

The Court in Liverpool was told that Maguire was an alleged cannabis dealer, and accused of attacking a man in Southport last year.

Stephen Maguire was also accused of driving a van into a man bouncing him off the bonnet and then kicking him in the face and shoulder.

He also faced charges of assault by beating, dangerous driving and driving while disqualified.

He was also accused of possessing cannabis with intent to supply in August.

The rudge said, “These proceedings are of no further effect because the defendant is dead.”

The four men have still not been caught.

The family of Stephen Maguire issued the following statement:

“Stephen was adored by his family and friends. He was a loving son to his mother and father and an amazing brother to his two brothers and three sisters.

“Stephen’s unconditional love for his dogs was well known and they were never from his side.

“He would do anything to protect his family and friends, without a second thought for himself.

“Stephen was a selfless person who wouldn’t hesitate to offer help to anyone, whether family, friends or complete strangers.”

His partner Megan added: “Stephen was the most caring and loving boyfriend. Not only that, he was my best friend.

“He was a devoted stepdad to Keisha who gave the best cuddles, and will always be loved and remembered as an amazing man.

“Goodnight baby I love you forever.”
