Police are investigating after a man was viciously attacked on Eastbank Street last night.
Witnesses reported hearing the victim being taunted by his attackers as he was viciously beaten and left with serious injuries.
Police and emergency services rushed to the scene opposite a row of shops on Eastbank Street bridge after an altercation broke out between a group of men.
An update from Merseyside Police is expected later today.
