Brookdale gets some new signage at last

Brookdale gets some new signage at last

New road signs erected to direct people to Woodvale’s  Brookdale Resource Centre have been welcomed by carers and staff at the facility.

However,  some confusion exists due to the following.

When travelling down Meadow Lane a Brookdale sign directs people into Sandbrook Road.

All well and good you may say, yet once in Sandbrook Road another sign is still required to stop drivers batting along past the left hand turn off for the centre.  It’s too easy to miss the turn and go off along the main road.

This latest improvement follows a meeting held by the Friends of Brookdale group last year (23.6.15) with Cllr Paul Cummins.

A Friends of Brookdale member, Cath Regan, stated…

“We also welcomed improvements to the Brookdale car park. Nevertheless, we had to ask Cllr Haydn Preece and Lynne Thompson to step in as parts had initially been missed, which resulted in some additional repairs being required.”
