The Brexit Party Candidate for Southport has today announced that he is willing to step aside to ensure a Conservative victory in the town.
Darcy Taylor, who last month was announced as the Brexit Party candidate for Southport, has made the announcement to ensure a leave supporting candidate is elected as the towns MP.
In a post published on Facebook, the leave campaigner said:
“I am for one prepared to stand down as I will always put country before party.”
The comments were in response to a post by Nigel Farage who said that he’s prepared to withdraw candidates to ensure a Conservative and Brexit victory.
The move would ensure Damien Moore MP has a clear path to re-election, who has consistently voted to ensure Brexit and the EU Referendum Result is delivered.
