Emergency services are currently on scene of a serious incident near to Southport beach.
Dozens of families watched on in horror as a car careered off the mini roundabout near to KFC shortly after 3.30pm this afternoon before crashing into stationary cars at the drive thru at the KFC.
The road has now been closed while investigations continue.
Fire, police and paramedics were called instantly to the scene following the crash with the cause of the accident as yet unconfirmed.
The car which swerved off the roundabout collided head on with cars full of hungry families awaiting their fast food.
Paramedics are assessing those involved for injuries.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call Merseyside Police on 101 urgently.
