Boy, 16, robbed on Halsall Road

OFFICERS are appealing for information after a local teenager had some hedge trimmers snatched from him on a road in Halsall.

At around 6pm on Friday 11July, the 16 year old victim was walking along Halsall Road towards North Moor Lane, pushing a lawnmower and carrying Stihl petrol hedge trimmers when he was approached by two men in a blue vehicle.

Whilst the driver distracted the boy, the front seat passenger prised the hedge trimmers from the boy’s hands, causing him to fall to the floor

The vehicle – believed to be a blue Vauxhall Astra – sped off along Halsall Road and turned into North Moor Lane.

The victim received cuts and bruises.

DS Steve Monk from South CID said: “I believe that the offenders were in the area looking for an opportunity to steal something.

“The victim is understandably upset and shaken following the incident.

“I am appealing to anyone, especially local residents who may have seen anything suspicious around the time.

“I am keen to trace the occupants of a silver coloured vehicle that was travelling in the opposite direction towards Renacres Lane seconds after the incident happened.”
