Better late than never for well known Southport landscape gardener Christian Mccarthy.
Christian trained with coach Jon Lund 30 years ago at Southport YMCA. However work, beer and life got in the way resulting in him never actually having a contest. His son Lewis Mccarthy took part in ABA contests cheered on by his dad but Christian always knew he should of got in there himself.
So at last he’s back at the gym and put his mind to it.
He’s going to box on The Jab fight clubs next local show in 8 weeks time.
The ‘St George’s brawl at the Bold’ is taking place on Easter Sunday 21st April.
Plenty of local boxers will be taking part including at last Christian, 30 years later!
