Bootle FC Announces Charity Partnership
Bootle Football Club is delighted to announce a charity partnership with local charity Sefton Children’s Trust.
Sefton Children’s Trust provides residential experiences, Christmas parties, presents, hampers and clothes for children and young people from families who are experiencing difficulties. Like many small charities, they have struggled this year to raise the money they need to continue making a difference to the children and young people of Sefton. They currently have no paid staff and need to raise approximately £50,000 per year to continue to offer their services to the people of Sefton.
The main aim of Sefton Children’s Trust is to support a 3-year educational and recreational programme for 72 children aged 8-12 years. The children may be young carers, live in families where there is serious or terminal illness, experienced bereavement of a close family member, been abused or living in a totally chaotic household, while local schools also refer young people as a positive reward.
Bootle Football Club will engage with its supporters to help raise awareness and funds throughout the season as well as endorsing the valued work carried out by the group. Bucket collections will be held at various games throughout the season, with the club also prominently featuring the charity on its website, social media channels and in its matchday programme.
Speaking on the partnership Bootle Chairman Bobby Capstick said: “I’m delighted that Sefton Children’s Trust has agreed to become our charity partner for the forthcoming season. I recently met up with two volunteers from the charity and it was staggering the amount of work that the charity does that goes unnoticed in the Borough of Sefton.
“As a club we aim to help them raise some much-needed funds towards the £50,000 a year that they need to survive, as well as helping to raise awareness for the work they currently carry out. We look forward to working with Sefton Children’s Trust and supporting their great work across the coming season.”
