Tree branches left covering the pavement almost caused an injury to a  blind person in Scarisbrick Street, Southport, this morning (Thursday 30th August 2012).

Local resident Catharine Scholes would have been injured if it had not been for her extended blind stick that warned her of the obstruction on the pavement.

After her ordeal Catharine said it was very inconsiderate of people to leave obstacles like this covering the pavement.

 Gardeners & householders are asked to think of blind people when doing jobs like this in future…
