Merseyside firefighters were called to Royal Terrace, Southport at approximately 12:30pm this afternoon (January 8 2015) following an emergency call.
They arrived on scene within minutes to find a small kitchen fire in a second floor flat. A pan of food had been left alone and caught fire.
Fire-fighters quickly put out the blaze and left the scene about 30 minutes later. There were no injuries involved.
Two fire appliances attended the scene.
