Biting winds and icy rain are forecast for the town over the next week but local residents in Birkdale are not happy that there is a growing number of homeless taking up shelter in the village.

An investigation by OTS this morning found two homeless men sleeping near to Birkdale Village while five different rough sleepers were spotted in Southport Town Centre.

One resident asked why the council were ignoring the growing problem and not doing anything to help the homeless.
