Birkdale born Mark Pownall shortlisted for a ‘Platinum Shoe Award’

Birkdale born Mark Pownall has been shortlisted for a ‘Platinum Shoe Award’ in the 2017 Footwear Industry Awards for his worth with Glucesteshire based footwear distributor Gardiners.

Mark, 31, has been shortlisted for helping make the company experience expotential grow over the last year, seeing them disturbute over 2 million items of footwear across the UK and Europe.

A delighted Mark said it has always been his dream to work with shoes.

He said: “Ever since my early teenage years I have had a passion for footwear and knew that in some capacity I would be destined to work in the footwear industry.

“I have been pursuing my dream for the last 10 years by working in a wide variety of shoe markets – performance sport, lifestyle/fashion, safety and outdoor.

“I have been working for Gardiners for 18 months and have loved every minute

“My plan for 2017 is to continue to develop and work incredibly close with each of my accounts and ensure we are delivering on what we promise.

“I am super excited seeing early samples of the winter ’17 Cotswold range.  We are offering our consumers high performance footwear at affordable prices which would hold its own on a shelf next to any other established outdoor walking product.”

The winners will be announced at a prestigious Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony on February, 19 at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham.
