Birds ‘being choked’ by irresponsible litter build up

14th January 2019

Birds at Marshside RSPB nature reserve are being choked by rubbish say worried twitchers.

Piles of rubbish are being blown into the reserve and the build up is slowly killing the wildlife in the area.

One man, who assesses the area most days in passing said “We will be bombarded with information once again this year regarding the state of our polluted waterways and seas contaminated by plastics.

I jog up to the sandworks at Marshside and along the Promen- ade to the pier.
This takes in Marshside RSPB reserve which is a site containing rare sea birds and waders.

Sadly, there is an element of society that just isn’t getting the message about litter waste and this spoils our lovely coastline for those that do.”
