Beach visitors urged to take rubbish home

    By COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTOR25th July 2019

As soon as the weather gets hot it seems some visitors think it’s okay to leave all their rubbish on the beach – it’s not.

Please take your litter home with you, whether it be bottles, takeaway wrappers or chairs (why would anyone think it’s okay to dump a chair on a beach???)

And please remember BBQs and fires are NOT allowed on the Sefton coast – they are a major hazard, damage the habitat, can cause appalling burns to children who run over super-heated sand and are sharp enough to cause cuts that can require serious treatment.

The #Sefton coast is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, protected for its beauty and wildlife, but can only remain so if everyone who uses it does so responsibly.

Just think – what would David Attenborough do?

If you can carry it onto a beach, you can carry it off.
