Austerity Impacts and Reports

With upcoming changes to housing and social benefits, welfare reform and major cuts being made to certain services, we have set up a page dedicated to the impact and results that these changes may bring. Our on home page, you will see an ‘Austerity Impact and Reports’ button where you will find a host of reports and analysis on the upcoming changes and a brief overview of what exactly is changing.

If you’re worried or concerned about the upcoming changes, Sefton CAB is hosting a number of workshops to update you on the latest developments.

Additionally, Bobby Brennan, Community Development Worker – BME Mental Health in Sefton CVS, is looking to run a Debt Awareness workshop with additional date’s organised dependent upon request.

The training will include subjects such as:

· Bailiff Powers including right of entry, Debt collection Agents, Utilities Debts, Magistrates fines/liability orders, Housing, Debt management plans, Personal insolvency and dealing with vulnerable persons.

· After the training you will have awareness of enforcement procedures and legal rights/ defence for example Consumer Credit Regulated Agreements, Statute Barred debt, Administration of Justice Act.
