Wild Card Winner Ashleigh triumphs at second attempt at Southport’s Got Talent

Ashleigh Slater the 14 year old pupil of Central Dance studio in Southport finally gained her place in the final of this prestigious competition

Ashleigh who came close to winning last week’s Battle of the Girls and was handed a ‘wild card’ for this weeks heat and triumphed this time by again singing Boccelli’s signature tune Time to say Goodbye – it was indeed her time on this occasion

The contest is being run at the Victoria pub on the promenade every Wednesday night

Also taking part on the evening were singers Sandy Manley and Sandy Lee the famous ChipButtyMan Don Helm and Andrew McKay who were wild card from other heats. Newcomer Cassie Marie Zachariah also performed giving a wonderful performance of Make you feel my Love, very ably accompanied by a superb guitarist

Despite this 16 year old Becky Brown from Orrell was runner upon the night after giving two excellent performances of Cabaret and Hallelujah and Becky came very close to winning with this superb performance

However the nights Judges singer Davey Salmon, Musician Mike Smith and local business woman Lesley MacBain decided it was time that Ashleigh took in her place in the Grand Final of the show which is now sure to be a sell out

This free show features some of the best talent in the region and includes performances from professional guest artists and so is some of the best free entertainment you are likely to see

 Shows start at 8pm at The Victoria and next weeks show includes a 14 year comedian John Bishop aka Josh Smallman and top artists Lauren Ormesher and Sam Denia

Guests will include Freddie Mercury!
