Armed police officers were called to Scarisbrick Street, Southport this morning at around 9.20am to reports of a man in possession of a crossbow inside a residential property, August 28 2019.
Armed officers were deployed to the scene and a road closure was put in place on Mornington Road whilst an armed containment was implemented.
Shortly after 10am, the man was detained and taken to custody.
The incident has since been stood down and road closures have been lifted.
