Armed burglar foiled by Southport resident

A shocked neighbour stopped a potentially deadly burglary last night in Norwood Avenue, Southport (Saturday 11 November 2017).

Darcy Taylor Iveson Berkeley was walking home when he spotted a balaclava clad man trying to break into a house on Norwood Crescent, just off Norwood Avenue.

Brave Darcy made sure the would be thief knew he was being watched before he fled the seen reportedly brandishing a weapon.

Darcy said “there was an attempted burglary at Norwood Gardens on Norwood Avenue.

I witnessed it myself, he was wearing a balaclava, he didn’t see me then I coughed to make it known I was there and he stood up looked at me and pointed some sort of weapon walked out the driveway and ran off down poulton road, the incident has been logged by the police.”
