Police are trying to trace a man wanted in connection with the rape of a woman in Blackpool over two years ago.

Nigerian national Steve Ken Peter, 38, also known as Hameed Saeko and Steve Adanemen Iyere (believed to be his real name), is being sought in connection with the incident which happened in a flat on Park Road in the resort on 23 December 2012. It is believed that the woman was raped by a man who said his name was Tony.

His last known address was in Newcastle upon Tyne (2008), however, he is known to have previously lived in Bradford, West Yorkshire (pre 2008) and London (2007).

Peter is also thought to have links to Manchester.

DC Beverly Thomas from Blackpool’s Public Protection Unit said: “Our investigation into this incident is still on-going despite the passage of time since it occurred. We are keen to trace and speak with Peter in connection with our enquiries.

“I would strongly urge anyone who knows of his current or recent whereabouts to contact police.”

Peter is described as a black African male, approx 5ft 7 tall, with a diamond type stud ear-ring.
