Appeal Following Sefton Hammer Attack On Woman

Merseyside Police is appealing for the public’s help in tracing two men following a serious assault against a woman in Bootle.

The 24-year-old victim had just arrived at a relative’s house in Wadham Road when she was attacked on the front doorstep by two men who had pulled up outside the house in a car.

The first offender approached her and punched her in the face. The second offender then hit her in the face with small hammer. The pair then got back into the car which was driven away by a third man.

The victim suffered serious injuries to her nose and cheek which required hospital treatment.

Detectives are treating this as a targeted attack and are keen to hear from the two men pictured or anyone who knows where they are as they may have information that can progress the investigation.

David Paul Topping, aged 28, and Francis Clarke, aged 21, both have links to the Bootle area. The incident happened at around 1pm on March 14th.

Call Sefton CID on 0151 777 3837 or leave information anonymously with Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
