Appeal after teenagers touched inappropriately on train – Liverpool

Police are appealing for information after two teenage boys were left shaken following an incident on board a train travelling between  Liverpool Lime Street and Huyton.

Between 8.20 and 8.40pm on Thursday, 22 December, the 16 year olds boarded the train and sat next to an older man.

During the journey the man touched both teenagers inappropriately on their legs.

One of the victims challenged the man about his behaviour before leaving the train at Huyton and reporting the incident to his parents.

PC Shaun Lee said: “Both teenagers felt increasingly uncomfortable and alarmed by the man’s behaviour.

“Everyone has the right to travel on the rail network without fear or concern for their safety.”

Officers believe the man in the image can help them with their investigation and ask him or anyone who recognises him to contact them.

Any information on this incident can be passed to BTP by sending a text to 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 133 of 03/01/2017.

Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
