Appeal after sword stolen from Southport home

15th January 2020

An ornamental sword, which was of great sentimental value to its owner, has been stolen from a house in Town Lane, Kew.

The display sword, which is for ornamental use only, was taken on Monday, January 13.

It is a black short ‘dagger’ style piece which is 2ft long and features an orange dragon design on a black enamel wooden sheaf.

The family are ‘desperate’ to have it returned as it is very meaningful to them.

Stephen Hughes said: “We have had disturbances in the past few nights but it appears to have been taken by an opportunist thief.

“We noticed it straight away, it was shocking to see that it had gone.

“It was so hugely obvious that it was taken.

“Its sentimental value is huge as it belonged to my late father in law.”
